I like collecting scale kits, although I didnt built them all, since I always end up with a horrible results when it comes to a painting job, luckily a friend of mine willing to do it as a commisions.
So let me share it here, all of the scale kits I own here were the one that Ive already modeled in 3d as my artworks. Some are in my future to do list as well :D
Scale kits helps me to study an aircraft shapes while doing some modeling.. (some brands do have a bad accuracy thou..) but mostly their fuselage and wings area quite OK.

Su-30 PC

The first one is my Academy Su-30MK2 TNI AU 1/48 with a custom hand made model from (clay?) such as wingtip and stabilizers and custom decals too!
This model a fair accuracy.
Su-30 1
Su-30 2
Su-30 3
and heres My Sukhois gallery :…

The second one is my Hasegawa F-14D Red Rippers 1/48
This model has a pretty good accuracy. Some parts were falsely using A/B version, and no weapons included. :(
F-14D 1
F-14D 2
F-14D 3
and heres my Tomcat works so far :…

Third one is Academy F-15E 1/48
This model has pretty good details. Plenty choices of weapons.
F-15E 1
F-15E 2
F-15E 3
Hope someday I can tackle to 3d modeling this plane! Will see If I can do a better progress than my F-14. :D

The F-14D studio photos were following this tutorial : (really cool and simple tutorial, be sure to check it out)

So, any of you guys like to collect something that related to your artworks?

Oh wow, your F-15 has the tail code of the Air Force base I grew up on. Also: they look amazing!

You should do a compare-and-contrast between model photos, and what you do digitally. At a distance, I'd wager they'd be hard to differentiate. :D

I have a toy (and I do mean toy) MiG-29 that helped me with perspective in a sketch once. I also have a couple of model planes lying around somewhere that I've assembled, but don't have the courage to paint. :p

That is a great collection Egar. You have some considerable modelling skills. Your paintwork and weathering are very convincing.
